The Wapello-Burlington Road Race is a point to point race on Highway 99 of approximately 33 miles. It was conceived to give novice racers the opportunity to road race within their skill level. The race begins in Wapello. The Cat 3s & 4s will start about five minutes after the Cat 1,2 & Pros make the turn around in Wapello. The 3s & 4s will go directly to Burlington to finish ahead of the Cat 1,2 & Pro race which detours to Mediapolis on the way to Burlington. Cat 5s will start about 5 minutes after the 3/4 start and follow them to Burlington.

Cat 3 & 4, and Cat 5 registration is from 2:00 pm to 4:15 pm at the Louisa County courthouse at Main & Franklin Streets, Wapello, Iowa. Estimated race starting time is 5:15 pm.

The Burlington Road Race is an out and back race of approximately 85 miles. The race begins in Burlington at the Port of Burlington Building on the Riverfront adjacent to registration. There is a neutral start through the city. The course goes north  from Burlington on highway 99, to Wapello, return on highway 99 with a side loop west to Mediapolis, then back to highway 99 and then to Burlington for the finish on Main Street in front of the post office. The terrain is gently rolling on Highway 99. The turn around in Wapello is on city streets. There will be a feed zone in Wapello. There is a five mile long climb out of the Mississippi River Valley on the Mediapolis blacktop that becomes a rapid descent on the return. Maps will be provided to all entrants at registration. Team support crews and vehicles are not allowed on the race course. Use US Highway 61 to get to the feed zone in Wapello and return. Neutral support wheel vans will be provided.

Pro 1 2 registration is from 1:00 pm to 3:15 pm at the Port of Burlington Building. Front Street, Burlington, Iowa. Race time is 4:15 pm sharp!

Race Rules
You must pick up your numbers before the close of registration for your event. Registration closes 1 hour before the scheduled start time for each event. If you fail to pick up your number on time, you may forfeit your entry fee and your number will be offered to riders on any waiting lists. You will not be allowed to race if you do not have your racing license. You are required to show your license to registration officials before you are given your number.

Riders will be staged in order of registration.

You must wear an approved helmet and have it properly fastened at all times you are on a bicycle at a race. This includes while warming up, on or off the course.

Photo finish at all criteriums and road races for the weekend.

Your racing license must be presented to collect any prizes. Prizes may be paid by check, you maybe required to sign a receipt. Prizes over $600 are reported to the Internal Revenue Service for which Social Security Numbers will be requested.
